In late September Blue Star Recyclers partnered with our good friends at Yampa Valley Sustainability Council to support their annual community recycling event in Steamboat Springs. This year YVSC broke all their record with 624 vehicles coming through to recycle several solid waste streams. 38,844 pounds of the total was unwanted electronics collected and recycled by Blue Star Recyclers.
Special thanks to the YVSC leadership team… Ms. Cameron Hawkins – Waste Diversion Director, and Sarah Jones – Executive Director, for putting on such a great event, for all the outstanding volunteers who helped us bring all that material in, and for putting out team of Dave Fry, Zach Bowen, Jackie Winger, Adam Landgraf, Loretto Hawkins, and Alec Anderson up for a few nights in Steamboat.

Denver Water held its annual employee appreciation day “Summerfest” last week and Blue Star Recyclers was there to help. In addition to fun and food, Denver Water employees brought in almost 3 tons of computers, televisions, and other electronics to recycle. And that will keep our employees busy working. Ewing Irrigation and Landscape Supply collaborated with Rachio Sprinklers and Blue Star Recyclers to recycle old sprinkler system controllers. The test program in Colorado and Texas was so successful it now expanding to Ewing locations across the country. Read the story here.
